A global pact for democratic information spaces
The International Partnership for Information and Democracy is an intergovernmental non-binding agreement endorsed by 57 countries building on the International Declaration to promote democratic principles in the global communication space.
A political commitment for the right to reliable information in the digital age
In response to growing disinformation, the weakening of independent journalism, and the unchecked power of digital platforms, 57 countries have joined forces to create a new international framework.
Launched at the United Nations General Assembly in 2019, the International Partnership for Information and Democracy affirms that the global information and communication space is a common good of humankind, and that access to reliable, pluralistic and independent information is essential to democracy.
