On Thursday, 9 October 2025, during the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Summit in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain, the Forum on Information and Democracy hosted a panel discussion titled “Information Integrity: Time for Implementation” at Palacio Europa. The session focused on media freedom and the fight against misinformation as well as digital governance.

Moderated and organized by the Forum, the discussion brought together leading experts, including Camille Grenier (Executive Director, FID), Anzhela Kzhdryan (Lead, Strategic Communication and Participatory Government, Prime Minister’s Office), Vanina Berghella (Regional Director, Latin America & Caribbean, International Fund for Public Interest Media), and Precious Ankomah (Deputy Director, Penplusbytes).

Following the publication of the joint report by the Forum and the Open Government Partnership in April 2025, the panel explored concrete ways to implement recommendations on media freedom, focusing on media sustainability, platform governance, access to information, and reforms to strengthen information integrity.

Participants called on OGP member States to include information integrity and press freedom in their national action plans, supporting national dialogues and policy reforms. The expected outcome is to establish a working group and consolidate a community of practice around these critical issues.
