Unpacking Current Developments in the Information Space: a New Insights Series by the Forum

The Forum on Information and Democracy is launching a new insights series “Unpacking Current Developments in the Information Space”. Elaborated in collaboration with its partners, these short analyses aim to decipher latest developments in the global information and communication space such as legislative and regulatory developments, judiciary decisions or tech rule enforcement.

These insights aim to bring local or distinct developments to global attention by providing an analysis of the situation as well as its consequences. They are complemented by opinions of our partners and experts. They also aim to raise the voices and experiences of partners in the Global South.

With this new series, we aim to offer a focused analysis of current developments, going beyond the noise of news buzz, to advance efforts in shaping and implementing democratic principles for the global information space,” explains Camille Grenier, Executive Director of the Forum. “As a space for collaboration this series will help strengthen the exchange of best practices and unpack sometimes complicated policy or legal issues.”

The insights series is notably addressed to the 54 States of the Partnership for Information and Democracy, providing them with valuable observations to inspire policy making. It is also aimed at the civil society coalition of the Forum, spanning more than 50 organizations worldwide. The coalition, are on the one hand partners in elaborating these analyses, but also benefit from the insights to support their advocacy efforts. All interested stakeholders are invited to subscribe to the dedicated newsletter.

The insights series is open to collaboration and we invite all interested stakeholders to reach out to us.
